In Memoriam: Deborah Johnson
The SNIA mourns the loss of a loyal association member, recognized industry leader, valued colleague and friend. Deborah Kay Johnson, 54, a business executive, died on July 24, 2007 at Stanford University Hospital from her injuries in a bicycle accident on Sand Hill Road in Menlo Park, California.
Deborah was born in Greeley Colorado. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications and psychology from the University of Northern Colorado. Later she received a Master of Arts degree in communications and organizational development and a Master of Business Administration degree in finance from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
Deborah's business career began at Hewlett Packard, where she progressed to senior marketing, operations and planning roles in Applications Software, Networking and Systems Software, at the Enterprise Computer Group and Hewlett Packard Consulting. After 21 years at Hewlett Packard, Deborah joined the startup Infinity I/O, where she served for 6 years, initially as COO and then as CEO. She was a dedicated and active member of the SNIA's Education Committee, and most recently served as SNIA's Tutorial Program Co-chair.
Deborah was also an active member of the Women in Consulting organization and she provided independent consulting services through Prescient Consulting. Deborah also served as a board member of the Page Mill YMCA.
