Get Involved in the Newest Activities of the SNIA DMF
New DMF Special Interest Group — Forming now!
Due to the growing interest in data de-duplication and space reduction solutions, the Data Protection Initiative has been tasked by the SNIA Data Management Forum (DMF) to form a Special Interest Group (SIG) focusing on this topic.
Participation in the Data De-duplication and Space Reduction Special Interest Group will provide many opportunities for members and their companies, including:
- A ground-floor, leadership role in developing data de-duplication and space reduction best practices and standards
- Collaboration on educational, marketing, and outreach activities
- Access to academic and industry research, to keep up-to-date on this rapidly-evolving area of our industry
- An opportunity to be informed, to help frame research and standards development, and to help influence projects that SNIA will undertake

The 100 Year Archive Task Force is now entering the next phase of its work plan, producing a best practices reference model and moving the technical projects into SNIA's Technical Council to form a Technical Working Group.
