SNIA Announces Its 2008 Board of Directors and Technical Council
The SNIA recently announced its 2008 Board of Directors, which is responsible for the SNIA worldwide, and the 2008 Technical Council, which is responsible for providing guidance and direction on the varied technical activities of the SNIA.
The SNIA's membership elected the Board of Directors, and the Board elected their Executive Committee officers and appointed one At-Large member to serve a one-year term. The 2008 SNIA Board of Directors and their roles are:
- Vincent Franceschini (Hitachi Data Systems), Chairman
- David Dale (NetApp), Vice Chairman
- Phillip Mills (IBM), Secretary
- Wayne M. Adams (EMC), Treasurer
- Tom Clark (Brocade), Member
- Ray Dunn (Sun Microsystems), Member
- Norio Hasegawa (HP), Member
- Skip Jones (QLogic), Member
- Leo Leger (SNIA), Non-voting Member
- Gary Phillips (Symantec), Member At Large
- Julie Ryan (LSI Logic), Member
- Dave Thiel (HP), Non-voting Member & Chairman of the Technical Council
- SW Worth (Microsoft), Member
In addition, the SNIA's membership elects seven Technical Council members and the SNIA Board of Directors appoints up to two additional members. The 2008 SNIA Technical Council and their roles are:

- Alan Yoder (NetApp), Vice Chairman
- Duane Baldwin (IBM), Member
- David Black (EMC), Member
- Mark Carlson (Sun Microsystems), Member

- Ken Wood (Hitachi Data Systems), Appointed Member
- Arnold Jones (SNIA), Non-voting Member
