A SNIA Membership Snapshot

At mid-2011, we say thanks to our 4,100+ active SNIA members. Our members represent over 400 organizations and include vendors, end users, channel, and services providers. We’ve educated over 45,000 IT users and vendors, and are proud of our 1,500 certified professionals achieving 3,000+ certifications.

SNIA members are “hands-on” with 2011’s exciting technologies like cloud, green, solid state, storage management, Ethernet storage, storage security, and data protection. There are activities for every interest – development, marketing, sales, customer support, and more.

Interested in cloud storage? Check out special interest groups developing best practices for cloud backup/recovery and archive/long term retention, and participate in ongoing development of the Cloud Data Management Specification (CDMI).

How about solid state storage? You’ll want to join the work on expanding the Enterprise and Client Performance Test Specification just released this summer.

Or are energy considerations on the front burner? If so, don’t miss the SNIA Emerald Program described in this issue of FarSighted. It’s easy to get involved in these or the hundreds of initiatives, projects, and programs ongoing right now.
