Geoffrey Moore
Managing Partner, TCG Advisors
Biography
Geoffrey Moore is a best-selling author, a Managing Director at TCG Advisors and a venture partner at MDV. Recognized as a leading business consultant to large companies facing formidable strategic challenges, Geoffrey works with established enterprises in his role of Managing Director of TCG Advisors. In this role, he divides his time between consulting on strategy and transformation challenges with senior executives and developing mental models to support the practice. With this focus in mind he has written Dealing with Darwin: How Great Companies Innovate at Every Phase of Their Evolution. Also recognized for his expertise in market development and business and investment strategies, as a Venture Partner at Mohr Davidow Ventures he serves as an advisor to many of their portfolio companies by drawing upon best practices derived from his extensive background working with technology startups.
Geoffrey has made the understanding and effective exploitation of disruptive technologies the core of his life's work. His books, Crossing the Chasm, Inside the Tornado, The Gorilla Game, and Living on the Fault Line are best sellers and required reading at leading business schools. Highly regarded as a dynamic public speaker, Geoffrey is the founder of The Chasm Group and currently is the managing partner of TCG Advisors. Earlier in his career, he was a principal and partner at Regis McKenna, Inc., a leading high tech marketing strategy and communications company, and for the decade prior, a sales and marketing executive in the software industry.

Chris C. Kemp
Biography
Chris C. Kemp is NASA’s first Chief Technology Officer for IT. As CTO-IT, Kemp is responsible for NASA’s Enterprise Architecture and for introducing new and emerging technologies into NASA’s IT roadmap. He leads a number of innovative pilot projects at NASA, including the Nebula Cloud Computing Platform, and is also responsible for NASA’s contributions to the Obama Administration’s Open Government Initiative.
Kemp joined NASA Ames Research Center in 2006 as Director of Strategic Business Development and helped forge partnerships with Google and Microsoft. From 2007 to 2010, he served as Chief Information Officer at NASA Ames Research Center, where he was responsible for much of the IT infrastructure at Ames and several NASA-wide services, including NASA’s IT Security Operations Center.
In addition to serving as Chairman of NASA's Web Council, Kemp is a member of the Cloud Computing Executive Steering Committee and is Co-Chairman of the Federal Cloud Computing Standards Working Group.
Prior to joining NASA, Kemp helped create the third largest online community Classmates.com, the leading web-based vacation rental platform Escapia, and the first online grocery shopping platform for Kroger, the world's largest grocery store chain.

Benjamin Woo, Program Vice President of IDC's Worldwide Storage Systems Research, leads a team of analysts responsible for advising clients on the evolution and trends related to data storage systems; the impact storage systems have on adjacent technologies including servers, software, cloud and virtualization; and best practices in go-to-market strategies related to the storage industry. In addition to authoring thoughtful and provocative insight on the storage industry, Mr. Woo frequently speaks at IDC, industry and customer events worldwide and is frequently quoted in the leading business and technology press.
Having devoted his career to the data storage industry, Mr. Woo uses this diverse set of skills, knowledge and experience to provide in-depth market analysis, research, and consulting on key aspects of the storage systems marketplace to both vendors and buyers of technology. Additionally, Mr. Woo advises Wall Street clients and other stakeholders interested in the storage industry.
A self-confessed "closet geek", Mr. Woo is uniquely able to articulate business values from complex technologies and conversely, communicate technically, the shifting challenges faced by organizations today. Additionally, Mr. Woo has served on a number of advisory councils of leading storage manufacturers advising them on strategies and direction relating to the industry.
Prior to joining IDC, Mr. Woo served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing at a national provider of technology solutions and services, where he was responsible for the dramatic growth and expansion of the company. Mr. Woo has served in several key sales and management roles at Network Appliance, Inc. and MTI Technology Corporation. He started his career in Sydney, Australia where he delivered one of the very first keynote speeches on the then nascent data storage technology we now know as RAID.
Mr. Woo graduated from the University of New South Wales, Australia, with a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) degree majoring in Accounting, Banking and Finance. |

Val Bercovici Cloud Czar, Office of the CTO,
joined NetApp in 1998 and leads the Strategic Planning Team within the office of the CTO. Working with customers, analysts, and alliance partners, Val focuses on next-generation research projects and is responsible for NetApp’s product vision.
Val introduced the first Cloud Standard to the industry as chairman of SNIA’s Cloud Storage Initiative, whose mission is to foster the growth and success of the cloud storage market. Previously, Val served as the vice-chair of SNIA’s Solid-State Storage Initiative.
Val has over 25 years of IT industry experience spanning NCR (AT&T) and Cognos (IBM), with 12 years in storage at EMC and NetApp. Previously, he worked as a consultant to private industry and government. Val holds a bachelor of science degree in Computer Science from the University of Ottawa.

Ashar Baig has over 15 years of high-tech industry experience focused on datacenter technologies in practice today and future trends including Cloud Computing, Backup and Recovery, Storage, Virtualization, Grid Computing, Green Computing, Server Con- solidation, Data Security, etc. Having worked extensively throughout North America, he offers a seasoned business perspective, broad industry background and solid datacenter understanding.
Ashar frequently engages customers at various levels i.e. C-level, VP-level, Director- level and Enduser-level and has conducted countless seminars/webinars/podcasts, hosted numerous panel discussions and Bird of a Feather sessions (BOFs) at trade shows, as well as written numerous articles, white papers and text books on various data center technologies. Ashar has held senior roles at some of North America’s lead- ing companies such as Platform Computing, TELUS, Siemens and Intel.

The role of the group is to educate the market about Cloud BUR benefits through use cases and to define requirements for standards that are part of SNIA’s Cloud Storage Initiative (CSI). This Cloud BUR SiG is the voice of the Cloud BUR industry with members from all continents. It creates and promotes Cloud BUR best practices and educates the industry through collaboration with end users, the channel, analysts and Cloud BUR vendors. |

Vincent Franceschini is the Chief Technology Officer of Distributed Data Storage Solutions for Hitachi Data Systems Corporation’s Department of File & Content Services, Media & Entertainment. In this role he is responsible for defining the future directions of HDS distributed architectures on a worldwide basis and for selecting key future technologies and solutions that HDS will market in fast growing IT market segments such as Cloud Services. Franceschini is also Hitachi Data Systems' primary representative to leading Industry Associations and Standards Development Organizations such as the Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA) where he became Chairman Emeritus in 2008 after many years of Executive service. More recently Franceschini has contributed to the launch of Cloud Storage standards activities in SNIA. Franceschini is also an active member of Open Grid Forum Europe’s Industry Experts Group (IEG).
With over 19 years experience in developing technology solutions, Franceschini’s expertise covers storage network technologies, solutions and markets, distributed architectures, software development, real-time systems, customer support and technical marketing. An accomplished and experienced public speaker, Franceschini has been working with storage networking and storage management technologies since 1995. |

Mark A. Carlson, Principal Cloud Strategist at Oracle, has more than 30 years of experience with Networking and Storage development and more than fifteen year's experience with Java technology. He has spoken at numerous industry forums and events. He is the chair of the SNIA Cloud Storage, NDMP and XAM SDK technical working groups, chairs the DMTF Policy working group, serves on the SNIA Technical Council, and represents Oracle on the DMTF Technical Committee and serves as DMTF VP of Alliances. |
