Hands-on-Lab for Developers at SDC

SDC’s in-depth, expert-led interactive Hands-On-Lab for Developers (HOLD) provides companies with an opportunity for SDC attendees to gain maximum exposure to their solutions or technologies in a classroom setting. Organized in conjunction with the SNIA Technical Council and participating SDC sponsors/exhibitors, the HOLD presents developers, engineers, senior technical management, and other interested attendees the rare opportunity to truly "try before you buy."

Participants can test-drive the latest programs, development environments, tools, and techniques in the storage and information management development market today. Skill levels are challenged through personal discovery and hands-on experience. During these sessions, attendees are guided—by sponsoring company’s expert trainers—through a series of exercises that highlight relevant applications.

Themes/topics of the HOLDs are chosen by each sponsoring company, and can cover virtually any subject germane to the conference, such as:

  • Development environments:  Requirements and architecture management, change and release management, quality management, and more
  • Standards development: CIM, SMASH, SMI, DASH, XAM, and others
  • The testing environment: Demonstrating best practices in developing an organization’s software QA strategy
  • Storage developer tools: Practical solutions for building storage solutions

As a HOLD sponsor, companies have the opportunity to present several sessions during the conference. Each organization can secure lead generation and follow-up opportunities and supply participants with collateral, curriculum, code samples, and evaluation software.

Sponsor companies provide products used in the HOLD program and help to develop content as part of the curriculum. They are responsible for creating a turn-key classroom environment in which to demonstrate their solutions and applications. HOLD participation is available only to registered attendees of SDC. Classroom sizes are limited; sessions will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
