Why Join the DMF?

By joining the DMF, vendors, integrators, and individuals collaborate with other IT Professionals and gain access and influence in a prestigious community with global reach.

We are:

  • Focused on providing market development and leadership related to information-centric management practices
  • Improving market definition by engaging with IT Professionals and building value for both communities
  • A world-class resource providing awareness programs, education, and global influence

The Data Management Forum is currently operating three initiative-based workgroups:

  • The Data Protection Initiative is defining new approaches and best practices for data protection and recovery.
  • The Information Lifecycle Management Initiative is promoting a unifying vision of what ILM will become and its impact on the datacenter.
  • The Long Term Archive and Compliance Storage Initiative is focused on the challenges of long-term digital information retention and storage compliance.

What is Expected of Member Companies?

The DMF is created by committed individuals with creative energy to address these information management market initiatives. Membership fees support DMF’s programs. Individuals can expect to spend several hours per week working on initiative projects. Leaders and committee chairs will spend 4+ hrs per week, depending on the roles that they have committed to lead.

Companies who allocate resources in each initiative will see a return that is proportional to the number of people engaged.  Get involved now!

If you have any questions regarding time commitment or expectations, please email Jeff Porter, DMF Chair.  He welcomes the opportunity to address any questions or concerns.
