DMF Program Leadership Responsibilities

DMF Leadership Activity Description

DMF Program leaders are responsible for providing thought and action leadership in advancing work in their area of interest.   Typically two people lead (co-chair) each focus area.  This allows for distribution of the work load, and permits work to continue when normal company business interruptions occur.

Co-Chair Leadership duties include:

  • Lead weekly working conference call
  • Establish the agenda for each weekly call
  • Lead the collaborative effort to establish priorities for the area of focus
  • Contribute to work projects
  • Review/edit submitted work products

 Typical program work products include:

  • Articles for publication in Storage Industry & IT magazines
  • Whitepapers for publication and distribution
  • Creation of presentations and SNIA tutorials
  • Delivery of presentations at tradeshows and events (optional)
  • Contributions of content for posting to the DMF website

Time commitment expectations include:

  • Initiative and Committee Co-Chairs

DMF Program Leaders should be able to commit a minimum of 3 hours per week to lead and contribute
to program work.

  • DMF Committe Member Activity Description

DMF members should commit a minimum of 2 hours/week for each active area of work.  Typically 1 hour to contribute to the working conference call and 1 hour to develop materials to contribute to the group.

  • Off-site Meeting Commitments

The Leadership of the DMF are expected to participate in four off-site meetings/year:

  • Summer and Winter SNIA Symposiums (June and Jan)
  • DMF Leadership meetings at SNW Spring and Fall (April and Oct)

Questions?

If you have any questions regarding time commitment or expectations, please email Matthew Brisse, DMF Chair.  He welcomes the opportunity to address any questions or concerns.
