November 13, 2007   Issue # 25    Your source for the latest Data Management Forum News and Events

Now is Your Chance to Give Your Company a Voice!

During the month of November, we are gathering nominations for leaders who will spearhead the work of our focus areas, the Information Lifecycle Initiative (ILMI), the Data Protection Initiative (DPI) and the Long-term Archive and Compliance Storage Initiative (LTACSI). Step up and give your company a voice in influencing the direction of your industry and work of the SNIA Data Management Forum.

Timeline: Nominations will be accepted through Friday November 23rd at 5pm CT - please note that November 22nd is a holiday in the USA. Nominate someone now!

Nominations will be accepted for the following 14 opportunities. Self-nominations are encouraged! Ideally two people Co-Chair each focus area, which allows for sharing of the workload, and the continuation of work when normal company business interruptions occur.

ILMI - 2 Co-Chair positions

DPI - 2 Co-Chair positions Data De-Duplication SIG - 2 Co-Chair positions

LTACSI - 2 Co-chair positions Standards and Practices Committee - 2 Co-Chair positions 100 Year Archive Committee - 2 Co-Chair positions Reference Guide Committee - 2 Co-Chair positions

Expectations: Often there is concern regarding the amount of time required to fulfill the expectations of these leadership positions. Experience suggests that as an Initiative Co-Chair, you are expected to commit 3 hours/week to advance the work of the Initiative.

Co-Chair Leadership activities include:

  • Lead and establish the agenda for a weekly working conference call
  • Lead a collaborative effort to establish priorities
  • Contribute to work projects
  • Review/edit submitted work products
