Winter Symposium BOF – Just Announced:

The SNIA Technical Council will be holding a BOF from 6:00–7:30pm on Monday January 28th on the topic of “Technical Activities for carrying out SNIA's mission and vision for Data Management”. This session is an opportunity to present and brainstorm new or existing ideas, and determine where there is potential work and interest. Please plan to participate.

If you have questions or some material to present, please forward to David Thiel or Arnold Jones in advance, as they will be the facilitators of this meeting.

Long–Term Digital Information Retention Glossary – Now Available for Review:

The SNIA DMF has a project underway to develop a reference model and architecture for best ‘storage’ practices related to long–term digital information retention and preservation in the data center. A glossary of key terms that supports and articulates the reference architecture using ILM–based practices is now available for DMF review.

We need your input! Please take some time to review and comment on our document titled “Building a Terminology Bridge for Long–Term Information Retention”. Comments are welcomed from DMF Members until Wednesday January 30th.
