Be One of the First to Leverage DMF’s 2–Year “Terminology Bridge” Effort
The SNIA Data Management Forum is pleased to announce that a new report titled “Building a Terminology Bridge: Guidelines to Digital Information Retention and Preservation Practices in the Datacenter” has been released for public consumption and use.
The release of this report concludes 2 years of work started by the DMF’s Long–Term Archive and Compliant Storage Initiative (LTACSI) in collaboration with the DMF ILM Initiative (ILMI).
In 2007 the initial goal was to develop a terminology set that crossed departmental boundaries and addressed the retention and preservation challenges of digital information in the datacenter. The objectives evolved from just a terminology focus, to explaining retention and preservation management practices within an ILM context.
Now it is time to put this report to use!
- As a member of the DMF – your organization is one of the first to have access to this report. We encourage you to post it on your website, offer it to your training departments, integrate it into your marketing programs, distribute it to your channel and share it with your customers.
- If your organization has a datacenter and owns the responsibility of managing information assets and dealing with the risks of litigation, eDiscovery, compliance, and long-term preservation of digital assets – this report is for you!
All feedback is welcomed and encouraged.
