Last Chance to Review
the “Terminology Bridge” Paper

This paper has been released to DMF members for final review. Click here to review and comment.

This paper includes 35 terms, but is not a dictionary. Instead, it provides an explanation of what the terms mean in the context of retention and preservation of digital information, and is consistent with what the DMF believes to be best practices based on Information-Centric Management and ILM-based practices for the datacenter.

This objectives of this paper are:

  • Define concepts and a terminology-set that bring business, corporate, legal, RIM, security, and IT interests together to address information retention and preservation holistically.
  • Create a comparative terminology-set between this context and other key archival and preservation oriented industry glossaries to act as a bridge to better communicate this terminology within the datacenter.

You have until January 27th to review and submit your comments before this document is released publicly. Let your voice be heard!
