Announcing: Database Information Management SIG

The DMF LTACSI is forming a new Special Interest Group to conduct market education and market development in the field of Database Information Management (DIM SIG). Currently the identified focus areas include database archive, preservation, database storage efficiency, ILM best practices, and development test data management & security.

Founding members for the DIM SIG are NetApp, IBM, Solix and Data Management Consulting Services. They have validated the need for this program - but they need YOU!

A Call for participation teleconference is scheduled for March 5th to outline the goals for this new SIG and entertain questions about participation.

Participation in this group will provide many opportunities for you and your company:

  • Ground-floor leadership role in developing database information management best practices and standards
  • Collaborate on market education, alliance, and market development activities
  • Learn from academic and industry research, and to keep up–to–date on this rapidly–evolving area of our industry
  • An opportunity to be informed, to help frame research and standards development, and to help influence projects that SNIA will undertake

For more information, contact Gary Zasman or Michael Peterson.
