SNW RE-CAP: Storage Networking World Fall 2006 was a resounding success =
last
week in Orlando Florida. Data Management focused tutorials took center =
stage
for the first day of the conference attended by a record number of SNW
participants. A dedicated team of ILM Initiative members designed,
coordinated and led the first ever Hands-on-Lab for Data Classification.
Throughout the 3 days, 55 attendees participated in the cleverly named =
"Get
a Life(cycle) Hands-on-lab activities. Overall, participation grew in
popularity for both the Hands-on labs and the SNW Solutions Center.
Utilizing the theme "Information in Motion", the Solutions Center was =
open
during exposition hours with demonstrations illustrating the real-world
challenges associated with the lifecycle of information, such as data
classification and tiered storage, backup and replication, archiving,
storage resource management, and more. If you would like to learn more =
about
what went on at SNW last week, along with access to all SNIA tutorials,
check out the SNIA website at: http://www.snia.org/events/ for all the
details.=20

UPCOMING EVENTS: On December 5th, Jason Iehl, Data Protection Initiative
Chair and Manager of Strategic Alliances for Quantum, will be =
participating
on a panel at the "Data Protection and Archiving Forum" in NYC. This =
event
is produced by IDC and Kahn Consulting and will address and debate the
business and technology challenges in data protection and archiving. =
