Sorin Faibish, an EMC Distinguished Engineer, is currently focusing on EMC Celerra NAS Product Performance as feature lead and Celerra MPFS/pNFS Architecture. His areas of expertise include high performance file systems, cluster file systems, storage systems performance, artificial intelligence, advanced file system design, multi-core CPU architecture, Intel multi-core virtualization support (VT) and performance benchmarks. Recently, Sorin has focused on MPFS/pNFS based video servers, HPC storage solutions and pNFS protocols including authoring a new IETF protocol draft for NFSv4.2.

Sorin holds an Engineering degree in Automatic Control from Bucharest Polytechnic Institute of Romania, a Masters of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Technion, Israel and was named EMC Celerra Product MVP of the year in 2004. He is the author of 20 patents, 56 pending patent applications and 53 conference and journal papers.
