About IP Storage Forum
The IP Storage Forum was created to:
- Promote the features and benefits of IP Storage, enabling customers to
take advantage of their IP networking investment as they expand their
networked storage assets.
- Enable vendors to collectively educate end-users, channel partners and
vendor partners on IP Storage technologies, applications and solutions.
- Provide a vendor-neutral venue to demonstrate interoperable IP storage
solutions in real-world contexts.
IP Storage Forum Governing Board
The IPSF has a 5-person
governing board
Chair
The Chair is the primary Forum representative to the industry, to the SNIA
Board, regional SNIA subsidiaries and Forums, and to other SNIA Forums. The
Chair presides at all IP Storage Forum meetings and shall have such other
powers as may be prescribed by the Forum Board or Membership.
Vice-Chair
In the absence of the Chair or in the event of the Chair's disability,
inability, or refusal to act, the Vice-Chair shall perform all of the duties
of the Chair and, in so acting, shall have all of the powers of the Chair.
The Vice-Chair shall have such other powers and perform such other duties as
may be prescribed by the Forum Membership or the Chair.
Treasurer
The Treasurer is the chief financial officer of the Forum and shall keep and
maintain or cause to be kept and maintained adequate and correct accounts of
the properties and business transactions of the Forum, including accounts of
its assets, liabilities, receipts, disbursements, gains and losses. Treasurer
may discharge these duties by working with the staff of the SNIA and the SNIA
Treasurer. The books of accounts shall at all times be open to inspection by
any Forum Member. The Treasurer shall have such other powers and perform such
other duties as may be prescribed by the Forum Board.
Marketing Director
The Forum's Marketing Plan, which the Forum collectively owns, is maintained
by the Marketing Officer. The Marketing Officer is Forum's primary interface
with SNIA marketing, and with the press. The Marketing Officer oversees the
creation and maintenance of presentation and marketing materials used on an
ongoing basis by Forum representatives. The Marketing Officer shall have such
other powers and perform such other duties as may be described by the Forum
Membership or the Chair.
Business Development Director
The Business Development officer is responsible for maintaining the
membership status and primary representatives of Forum member companies. The
Business Development officer may discharge these duties by working with the
staff of the SNIA. The Business Development officer is also responsible for
driving membership recruitment programs for the Forum
IP Storage Forum Committee Chair postions:
Denise Ridolfo, NetApp, Marketing Committee Chair
- The IPSF Marketing Committee will have a Marketing Chair as a volunteer
position, appointed by the IPSF Board of Directors.
- The Marketing Chair:
- Reports to the IPSF Board and specifically to the IPSF Marketing
Director
- Works in conjunction with the IPSF Board and is responsible for
execution of the worldwide IPSF Marketing plan
- Makes recommendations to the Board regarding hiring of outside
contractors for specific projects
- Is the primary liaison and interface to support and leverage IPSF
activities to various worldwide SNIA departments and initiatives and other
IPSF committee chairs
Technical Liaison Chair
- The technical liaison chair is responsible for the interface between
IPSF and SNIA IP TWG and other standard organizations working on IP Storage
technology. Collect any new requirements gathered as part of IPSF marketing
activities and coordinate with IP TWG on their technical merit and
feasibility. Actively engage other SNIA technical working groups to promote
IP Storage related content in their work.
Jame Ervin, Stonefly, Education Chair
- The IP Storage Forum Education Committee Chair is responsible for
reviewing and maintaining existing education materials & presentations;
collecting suggestions for new materials; coordinating and participating in
the creation of new materials, and acting as a liaison with the SNIA
Education Committee.
Wendy Betts, End User Liaison Chair
- The IPSF End User Liaison Chair is responsible for working with the SNIA
End-User Council in the creation of best practices, deployment guides and
sample deployment descriptions of IP Storage solutions.
Mike DiMeglio, Membership Chair
- The IP Storage Forum Membership Committee Chair is responsible for
creating a member recruitment plan, maintain membership benefits collateral,
identifying possible new member companies, and conducting a member
recruitment program.
