Internet Fibre Channel Protocol (iFCP)
iFCP is an IETF-standard TCP/IP-based protocol for interconnecting Fibre Channel storage devices or Fibre Channel SANs using an IP infrastructure in conjunction with, or in place of, Fibre Channel switching and routing elements.
iFCP also has the capability to create fully autonomous regions by interconnecting islands of existing Fibre Channel hub- and switch-based SANs, if present. iFCP represents an ideal customer solution for transitioning from Fibre Channel to native IP storage networks.
