CTP Specific TerminologyThis page has a list of the various terminology used the by the SNIA's Conformance Testing Program. Number of Conformant Hardware Products: This is a number which defines the quantity of individual hardware product models that are listed as manageable by providers. This list of models is provided by each company. Individual model numbers are only counted once per version of a provider test. A particular model will only be counted once in a situation such as when a provider may have been tested twice for the SMI-Provider 1.1 test and a particular model of hardware would be listed as conformant for each test. Number of Conformant Software Products: This is a number which defines how many different software products were tested in a given area of testing. The products are differentiated by name. Names are generally applied to either a provider (element manager) software or to a client software such as an SRM tool. Many companies will test more than one software product. Number of Conformant Software Product Versions: This is a number which defines the number of software versions tested in a given area. Some vendors may only test one version of their software against an SMI-S revision. Some verdors, however, test multiple versions of their software against an SMI-S as their product versions roll to show conformance against a given version of the specification. Number of Participating Companies: This is a number which defines the quantity of companies that participated in a given area of testing. This number is used, for example, to tell how many companies took 1 or more tests associated with a test area such as SMI-S 1.0 Provider testing. Number of Test Completed: This is the total number of test results received for a given area. This number is generally shown to demonstrate overall participation in the Conformance Testing Program. SMI-S 1.0 Client Tests: Tests performed against SMI-S enabled clients relative to the SMI-S version 1.0.X. SMI-S 1.0 Provider Tests: Tests performed against SMI-S enabled providers relative to the SMI-S version 1.0.X. SMI-S 1.1 Client Tests: Tests performed against SMI-S enabled clients relative to the SMI-S version 1.1.X. SMI-S 1.1 Provider Tests: Tests performed against SMI-S enabled providers relative to the SMI-S version 1.1.X. Testcases: A unit test within the SMI-Client test area. Testcases are designed to test a given functionality which relies upon SMI-S methods. Please refer to the SMI-Client Test Definitions to understand the indivudual testcases for each version of SMI-Client testing. Testgroups:
