The SNIA Storage Security Industry Forum Announces 2007-08 Governing
Board
Strengthening storage security knowledge foundation for expanded
activities
San Francisco CA, August 28, 2007 - The Storage Networking Industry
Association (SNIA) Storage Security Industry Forum (SSIF) has announced its
2007-2008 Governing Board:
Gordon Arnold (IBM), Chair

"I am pleased to welcome the new SSIF Governing Board," said Vincent
Franceschini, SNIA Board of Directors Chair. "The SSIF has set far-reaching
goals for 2007 and beyond to identify, understand and define specific
security threats to storage; seek interoperable approaches that lead to an
enhanced security posture; and leverage a holistic view of storage security
through interactions with industry standardization activities."
"I look forward to working with the SSIF Board to lead a successful agenda,"
said Gordon Arnold, SSIF Governing Board Chair, "including communicating
SNIA and SSIF member expertise in data/information security and driving new
opportunities to enhance security in the storage industry through education
and best practices development."
SSIF will continue to promote standards and develop best practices for
storage security in partnership with SNIA technical working groups," Arnold
continued, "and will build on their body of work exemplified by documents
such as best practices for storage security, first published in 2006 and
currently being revised and expanded."
Upcoming SSIF activities include SNIA Security Tutorial education
sessions on encryption, forensics, key management, and end-to-end security
at Storage Networking World Dallas October 15-19, 2007 and at SNW Europe
Congress Frankfurt October 29-31, 2007. Other SSIF activities will be a SNIA
Security Summit focused on eDiscovery January 31-February 1, 2008 in Santa
Clara, CA, and an end user Security Tutorial Day January 30, 2008 preceding
