Alliances

Alliances with other organizations addressing storage and security issues are key to a complete understanding of the issues and challenges of security in the storage ecosystem. The Storage Security Industry Forum welcomes membership from both individuals and companies in these important associations.

Join us to develop and present SNIA education tutorials, participate in the SSIF Storage Security Summit, and collaborate on white papers, articles and other educational outreach activities. To inquire further, contact ssif-info@snia.org.

Trusted Computing Group - SNIA Storage Security Industry Forum Alliance

The SSIF is pleased to partner with The Trusted Computing Group (TCG) to collaborate on education and marketing outreach for storage security.

The Trusted Computing Group (TCG) is a not-for-profit organization formed to develop, define and promote open, vendor-neutral, industry standards for trusted computing building blocks and software interfaces across multiple platforms.

Trusted Computing is the industry's answer to growing security problems in the enterprise and is based in a hardware root of trust. From this, enterprise systems, applications and networks can be made more secure. With Trusted Computing, the computer or system will consistently behave in specific ways, and those behaviors will be enforced by hardware and software when the owner of those systems enables these technologies.

Self-encrypting drive solutions based on TCG specifications enable integrated encryption and access control within the protected hardware of the drive. Self- encrypting drives provide the industry’s premier solution for full disk encryption, protecting data when the machines or drives are lost, stolen, re-purposed, retired, or returned for repair. TCG’s open standards provide multivendor interoperability and facilitate integration of self-encrypting drives with encryption management software.
