Technical Activities

Members of the Storage Security Industry Forum often collaborate on technical activities and projects with members of the SNIA Security Technical Work Group (TWG).  The Security TWG consists of storage security experts from the SSIF and the SNIA membership, who collaborate to develop technical solution

The focus of the Security TWG is directed toward both long-term and holistic security solutions, and the group provide architectures and frameworks for the establishment of information security capabilities within storage networking industry. Additionally, it provides guidance on the application information assurance to storage systems and ecosystems as well as on matters of compliance as they relate to data protection and security.

The SSIF and Security TWG are involved in SNIA standards and initiative activities, including the Storage Management Initative (SMI-S) and the Content Aware Storage API (XAM).  Members also work closely with industry standards groups focused on storage and security, including the INCITS T10 and T11 technical committees and the IEEE Project 1619 work group.
