Call for Nominations: Deadline is August 31st SNIA Board of Directors and Technical Council

Dear SNIA Member:
The SNIA is now beginning its nomination and election activity for the Board of Directors and the Technical Council for service for the 2013 Fiscal Year which extends from December 1, 2012 to November 30, 2013. We wish to provide information on the nomination and election process. We encourage every voting member company to consider nominating candidates for election. We also encourage all voting members to vote in this election which will be conducted by e–mail.
The Board of Directors is the governing body of SNIA. It is composed of up to 10 Directors elected by the membership, and up to 3 Directors appointed by the Board. For next year’s Board, 3 elected and 2 appointed Directors are able to remain on the Board to complete their second year of their terms. For this year’s election, this leaves 7 seats open for election to 2–year terms by SNIA voting members, along with 1 seat open for appointment by the full Board (after elections).

The Technical Council (TC) is the body of technical experts that guides the technical direction of the SNIA. It is composed of up to 7 members elected by the membership and up to 2 members nominated by the Technical Council and appointed by the Board of Directors. For this year’s TC election, 2 of the existing TC members will remain on the TC to complete the second year of their terms. This leaves 5 seats open for election to a 2–year term by SNIA voting members and 2 seats open for appointment by the full Board (after elections). See information on the current Technical Council at

In order to have a candidate nominated, this must be done by August 31st.

September 1 – 30 | Voting member company designated Voting Representatives submit their ballot via e–mail or FAX. Only the Executive Director and one other SNIA Staff member know the balloting results. Votes may be changed by submitter any time during the voting period |
September 30, Midnight PT | Voting is closed |
October 4, 10am PT | Election Results will be announced during our 2012 Annual Membership Teleconference Meeting |
