Cloud Storage Initiative Reduces Fees for ‘Strategic Class’ Members
During the first three years of its life, the Cloud Storage Initiative was generously supported by a small group of members who contributed fees of $35,000 a year to grow the Initiative’s budget and defray expenses associated with the annual Cloud Burst Conference, CDMI/Cloud Plugfests, the CSI Kiosks at Storage Networking World and marketing materials. Having achieved success given this boost, but wanting to allow more members to enjoy the benefits of Strategic Class memberships, the CSI Governing Board has announced that is has reduced fees for 'Strategic Class' members to $15,000 for 2013. Members who are interested in upgrading their CSI memberships or joining for the first time can contact Tony DiCenzo, CSI Marketing Committee Chair or Lisa Mercurio SNIA Membership Services Manager for details.

NFS Webcast Series Getting Great Reviews
The 4–Part NFS (Network File System) European Webcast series currently underway by the SNIA Ethernet Storage Forum (ESF) continues to receive high ratings. This Webcast series highlights how NFSv4.1 is being implemented, the differences between NFSv3 and NFSv4.1, pNFS, FedFS, understanding the NFS protocol and its application to modern datacenter workloads, and offers a preview into proposed features in NFSv4.2
This series is presented by Alex McDonald, Co–Chair of the SNIA NFS SIG and Gilles Chekroun, SNIA Europe Board of Directors. The first two Webcasts, 4 Reasons to Start Working with NFSv4.1 Now, and Advances in NFS — NFSv4.1 and pNFS were big successes, receiving an average viewer rating of 4.5 (on a 1–5 scale). NFS — Plan for a Smooth Migration just recently aired on February 5th. These recorded sessions are now available on demand.
