The new SNIA Technology Center, located at the LSI Corporation ArrowsWest complex in Colorado Springs (near the historic Garden of the Gods Park), enables the computer storage industry to carry out both local and global technical standards development, interoperability testing programs, and classroom education for IT professionals and engineers. The facility features over 8,600 square feet of data center space, hosting environments for SNIA standards and testing programs, and classroom training and meeting space. It also has convenient access to nearby hotels and restaurants, and all the amenities that have enabled the SNIA Tech Center to function effectively in the past. The new facility will continue to host programs that accelerate the development and introduction of advanced network storage technologies and solutions. The ArrowsWest facility provides programs and educational offerings to support end users, integrators, and member company employees. As the venue of choice for SNIA programs, the Technology Center supports SNIA members to work collaboratively in developing technologies, standards, and tests that enable more efficient, complete, and trusted networked storage infrastructures. The Tech Center is also involved in the pre-staging and hosting of events and activities worldwide. The calendar of activities for 2010 is already filling up, with meetings, standards development work, and plugfests already scheduled. The Technology Center will be hosting educational courses for storage networking, standards-based interoperability programs, qualification of supported multi-vendor solutions, proof-of-concept testing, and conformance to standards qualification tests — all of which accelerate the delivery of the goals and milestones of the SNIA. In just a few years, the SNIA Technology Center has become the venue of choice for the storage industry vendors, partners, and end users to receive education and to collaborate to deliver end-user requested technologies and solutions to the marketplace.
