Dr. Vivek Raghavan

Chief Product Manager, UIDAI

Dr. Vivek Raghavan is an out-of-the-box problem solver, serial entrepreneur and angel investor.

Vivek is the Chief Product Manager and Biometric Architect at the Unique Identification Authority of India. He has been responsible for the design, implementation and scale out of the technology platform for Aadhaar, the world’s largest identity program. He joined the Aadhaar project just when the first Aadhaar was issued, and was there when the billionth Aadhaar was generated.

He has also served as CTO for Team Indus, India's entry to the Google Lunar X-Prize, which aimed to land a spacecraft on the surface of the moon. Vivek spent 20 years in the field of Electronic Design Automation (EDA), successfully founding, running and selling two EDA startups and being responsible for the design and development of multiple market leading EDA products. He has held senior management positions at Magma Design Automation, Synopsys and Avant! Corporation. Vivek has an M.S. and Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and a B. Tech. from IIT Delhi. Vivek has an eclectic portfolio of angel investments, including Team Indus, Gear Design Automation, eZeTap, ZipDial, Healthify, and Vayavya Labs among others.

Neeraj Matiyani

Head of Storage Business, Amazon Internet Services

Neeraj is the head of storage business Amazon Internet Services Pvt Ltd. He helps clients, partners & ISVs with their cloud journey from a storage perspective. He is a business leader with comprehensive experience in sales, business development, P&L and team management. Prior to Amazon, he has worked in Dell EMC, Hewlett Packard & Wipro in various sales, product and business management roles. Neeraj is a BE in Computer Science from Delhi College of Engineering. 

Amar Tumballi

Manager, Software Engineering, Red Hat Gluster Storage 

12+ years in Software Defined Storage (Started with Gluster in 2006). Currently maintainer and Leadership Council of Gluster Project Upstream. Did my BE from SJCE, Mysore. One of the founding engineering team member of Gluster. Developed most of the features currently used in GlusterFS, and continues to be a top contributor to the project. Currently chasing the task of making storage easy to use for gen-next Admins inside the team. Outside of work, likes to travel, reads books and prefers playing badminton occasionally to keep fit.

Yogesh Anyapanawar

AVP Engineering, Calsoft Inc. 

Yogesh is an experienced engineering leader with strong technical skills combined with a business-centric view of crafting products and solutions. In the course of his professional journey as an ardent technologist, Yogesh has performed multitude of roles including software development, architecting solutions, managing, mentoring teams and technical sales. Noted for leveraging expertise in Datacenter technologies, Yogesh is a motivational leader with experience in leading cross functional teams to achieve strategic and tactical goals. At Calsoft, the role of Yogesh is to streamline and create an engineering organization spanning Storage, Virtualization and closely aligned technologies, that forms the base of Calsoft’s unmatched product development services portfolio.  

Balaji Marimuthu

Manager, Software Development, Microsemi

Balaji Marimuthu is a Manager Software Development at Microsemi for the ecosystem storage management team. He has 17+ years for experience in storage and embedded product development. He is a member of DMTF SPMF (Redfish) and SNIA SSM (Swordfish) forum. His storage product experience include iSCSI, SAS controllers and SAS expanders. His storage management protocol experience includes the SNMP, CIM / SMI-S, Redfish/Swordfish.

David Bachu

Associate Project Manager, Mindteck

David Jayanandam Bachu is an Associate Project Manager at Mindteck. During the 16 years of his professional career, he has spent more than two-thirds of his time in the storage industry. His work involves the development of firmware for SAS controllers, hardware diagnostic suites, and device drivers for network interface cards. David received his Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering and a Master’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering. 

Muthu Mohan

Technical Lead, Mindteck

Muthu Mohan is a Technical Lead at Mindteck. For seventeen years, he has worked on enterprise servers and storage management products. Muthu has a Master’s degree in Computer Applications from DOEACC. 

Girish Kumar BK

Senior Engineer, NetApp

Girish is a storage software researcher involved in evaluating disruptive technologies by developing new ideas for potential future products within Advanced Technology Group, CTO Office, NetApp India.  His current research areas include data management services for next generation workloads (IoT, SaaS), data governance in the hybrid cloud, SCM/NVM implications to in-memory databases and scalable architectures etc.  

Sivaram Ilangovan

Country Lead, Intel NVM Solution Group

Sivaram is currently working as the storage country lead to embark the ecosystem across the storage industry. Previously the lead architect for transportation vertical segment in enabling the large auto OEM on their autonomous driving transformation and supportive building blocks on  for the data center. In order to be successful and thrive in this dynamic and collaborative environment, I have cultivated strong, collaborative partnerships with leading OEMs/ODMs, ISVs, partners and data center customers within the cloud ecosystem.

Sachin Patil

Delivery Manager, Tata Consultancy Services

Sachin Patil is a Delivery Manager for Software Product Engineering projects within HiTech Industry Service Unit of TCS.  He has been associated with Storage product engineering programs since 2009.  In the last six months, he is associated with the Data Protection compliance program for Hitech Industry Service unit within TCS. He is also an Agile enthusiast and a TCS Agile Ninja Coach. 

Anand Nagarajan

Technical Lead, Software Design, Microsemi and SNIA India Board Director

Anand has worked in storage management for about 10 years in different layers of storage management stack. Rich experience in designing and implementing  storage management services using Redfish, SMI-S provider and middleware. Worked on RAID firmware and SAS protocol layer in DAS. 

Anindya Banerjee

Technical Director, Veritas Technologies

Anindya is Technical Director, VERITAS and has 16+ years of experience, where he specializes in distributed and storage systems in general and in file systems in particular. For more than a decade, Anindya has been associated with Veritas Access & Veritas File System, which is one of the leading file systems in Unix world. He focuses on new and latest trends that are impacting storage industry and conceptualizes, designs and develops solutions to meet and exploit them. His key areas of focus are Software Defined Storage, Solid State Storage, Cloud Storage, Open Source Storage Technologies and Machine Learning.

Anindya has been an active innovator over the years and has more than 30 granted patents from USPTO in his  name. He is part of Veritas patent filter committee and has also been part of paper selection committee for various conferences.

Anil Degwekar

Technical Staff, Software Engineering, Dell EMC

Anil Degwekar is a software architect working in Dell EMC. He is a member of the Technical Steering Committee for ViPR Controller and its Open source software offering CoprHD. Prior to Dell EMC, Anil has worked in C-DAC, Tata Elxsi, Intel and NetApp. Anil has done his B. Tech. and M. Tech. in Electrical Engineering from IIT Bombay.

Ankit Agrawal

Functional Analyst, TCS

Ankit Agrawal is having 9+ years of experience in Storage and Java technologies. He has been working as Functional Analyst in SPE-Storage group in TCS and focusing on emerging cloud storage technologies and involved in developing solutions to address customer requirements and challenges. He has been participating and presenting talk in SNIA SDC for more than 3 years.

 

Anupam Jagdish Chomal

Principal Software Engineer, Dell EMC

Anupam Chomal has 14+ years of experience across domains like Networks,Storage, and Security. He has a Masters in Computer Science from IIT Bombay, where his major subjects have been Networking and Security. Currently, he is the Tech Lead of DellEMC Isilon's Security team, and looks into Secure and fast communication within the cluster.

Ms Archana Chinnaiah

Software Engineer, IBM

Archana is a software engineer in IBM ISDL working for Software Defined Storage. She has been working on Spectrum Scale features like Transparent Cloud Tiering. Completed Masters in Computer Science from PSG College of Technology. 

Atin Mukherjee

Manager, Software Engineering, Red Hat

Atin has been working with Red Hat as an associate manager in storage engineering group. By title and responsibilities he takes care of people management role, but he still continues to contribute to Gluster in the technical areas. He's one of the co maintainer in Gluster Community and maintains a critical component of this project. Prior to storage, Atin has worked in different domains like telecom, BFS for around six years. Atin has spoken in many conferences like RootConf, FudCon, SDC, LinuxConAU.

Deepti Aggarwal

Technical Staff, NetApp

Deepti Aggarwal is a member of technical staff in the Advanced Technology Group at NetApp in Bangalore. Her primary focus area has been on application of ml and statistical methods towards improving the supportability and manageability of NetApp storage systems. Deepti holds a master’s degree in mathematics and a bachelor’s in computer science engineering from BITS, Pilani. She has submitted research papers in various ACM and IEEE sponsored conferences and holds US patents. Deepti has delivered technical talks at many different technical venues including High Performance Computing conference and Data Science Exchange meet.

Dineshkumar Bhaskaran

Director of Technology, Aricent

Dineshkumar Bhaskaran has around 15 years of experience in embedded and enterprise storage technologies. Currently he has been working as Director - Technology at Aricent for innovation group leading efforts in the field of hyper converged infrastructure. His area of interest includes Erasure coding, Heterogeneous computing and Operating systems.

Dhishankar Sengupta

Interoperability Architect, HPE

Dhishankar Sengupta is a Interop Architect with HPE. He is responsible for the compatibility matrix of various Operating systems with HPE's 3PAR storage products. Dhishankar has multiple issued patents from USPTO and have preseneted in SNIA SDC, Santa Clara on couple of occasions.

Dr. Dinkar Sitaram

Professor, PES University

Dr. Dinkar Sitaram is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science at PES University. He heads the Center for Cloud Computing and Big Data at PES University, and is driving research in these areas. He is also chairing the Cloud Computing Innovation Council of India working group that is working with TSDSI on developing cloud standards for India, He is the author of two books - a recent book on Cloud Computing, called “Moving to the Cloud – Developing Apps in the New World of Cloud Computing” published by American Elsevier in December 2011. His earlier book “Multimedia Servers” was published by Morgan Kaufman, San Francisco. He is the author of over 20 patents and 32 publications, and has over 3000 citations to his work.

Dr. Sitaram received his Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and his B.Tech from IIT Kharagpur. He joined as a Research Staff Member in IBM’s Research Division at the IBM T.J.Watson Research Center, NY. At IBM, Dr. Sitaram received an IBM Outstanding Innovation Award (an IBM Corporate Award) as well as IBM Research Division Award and several IBM Invention Achievement Awards for his patents and research, received outstanding paper awards at ACM Multimedia for his work. He also served on the editorial board of the Journal of High-Speed Networking. Subsequently, he returned to India as Director of the Technology Group at Novell Corp., Bangalore. The group developed many innovative products in addition to filing for many patents and standards proposals. Dr. Sitaram received Novell’s Employee of the Year award. Subsequently, Dr. Sitaram was CTO at Andiamo Systems India (a storage networking startup), responsible for architecture and technical direction of an advanced storage management solution. Andiamo Systems was acquired by Cisco Systems. Most recently, Dr. Sitaram was CTO at HP Systems Technology and Software Division, the product R&D organization of HP in India. He focused on driving cloud and storage technologies as part of the HP Storage Division. He also worked on file system strategies, and high reliability for the HP Unix server division. He was also responsible for Patents and University Relations at STSD.

Ketan Dinesh Mahajan

Principal Software Engineer, Veritas Tech. LLC

Ketan has been working in storage industry for more than 10 years. Currently he is working as Principal Software Engineer for Veritas Tech. LLC, Pune. He expertise spans across multiple areas like storage QoS, performance, backup, etc. He has worked on products like Atempo LiveBackup, Veritas Volume Manager, Veritas HyperScale, Veritas CloudPoint. He was recently instrumental in developing storage QoS solution for OpenStack and has filed 2 patents in that area.

Prof. K Gopinath

Professor, Indian Institute of Science

Prof. K. Gopinath graduated from IIT-Madras with a B.Tech. degree from University of Wisconsin, Madison with an MS in Computer Science. After working at Advanced Micro Devices as a Product Planning Engineer, he joined Stanford University for a Ph.D.(completed '88). After a brief stint as a PostDoc at Stanford and then at Sun Microsystems Labs, he joined IISc in 1990 where he is now a Professor.  His research interests are primarily in the computer systems area (Operating Systems, Storage Systems, Computer Systems, Security, Software Verification).

Mahesh Khatpe

I am a software QA professional with 13 years of experience. Currently I  am working with Veritas Tech. LLC as a storage performance engineer. My interest areas  are storage performance, data models, optimisation in the I/O paths.  I love to work towards enhancing the quality of the products.

Michael Oros

Executive Director, SNIA

Michael Oros is Executive Director at Storage Networking Industry Association, where he oversees the group, industry collaboration and standards work of the organization. Michael brings 20 years of strategy, planning and development experience in IT services and high-tech industry to SNIA. Before joining the organization, Michael held roles at Intel including oversight of technology initiatives and collaboration on open standards, as well as the deployment of storage, backup, and disaster recovery services for the organization. He led the storage and networking components vendors through the biggest I/O transitions of the past decade, while playing a key role in the introduction, adoption and ramp of PCI Express, InfiniBand, OpenFabrics, and various storage/memory technologies in server, cloud, HPC and storage industries. Michael holds an MBA in strategic management, marketing and international business from USIU.

Mukul Kumar Singh

Senior Software Engineer, Hortonworks

Mukul Kumar Singh is a Senior Software Engineer at Hortonworks. He finished his Masters from Carnegie Mellon University and Bachelor of Engineering from R. V. College of Engineering. Mukul has worked on multiple enterprise filesystems like WAFL(NetApp) and CASL(Nimble Storage). Currently he is working on Apache Hadoop HDFS and has Hadoop committer privileges.

Nandakumar Valivedu

Senior Software Engineer, Hortonworks

Nandakumar Vadivelu is a Senior Software Engineer at Hortonworks who works on Apache Hadoop development. He has been using Hadoop since 2012 and is contributing to Hadoop for the past two years. In his previous project at Ericsson he architectured migration of telecom data warehouse form Oracle to Hadoop.

Niranjan Pendharkar

Distinguished Engineer, Veritas Technologies

Niranjan is a Distinguished Engineer, VERITAS Technologies LLC with 20 years of experience in Storage Management, Storage Virtualization, Distributed Systems, HyperConverged Storage. Niranjan has also been involved as an architect in products such as VERITAS InfoScale and VERITAS HyperScale. His current areas of interest include HyperConverged systems, Machine Learning and Software defined storage.  Niranjan has more than 50 US patents, has received Zinnov Technical Role model award and has been a part of patent filter committee in VERITAS. He has presented in several events and forums inside and outside of VERITAS.

Pradeep Gothoskar

Senior Principal Software Engineer, Veritas Technologies

After a Ph.D. in Astrophysics from the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR, Bombay), I was faculty at the National Center for Radio Astrophysics from 1995 to 2000. During this period I worked on real-time systems and digital signal processing of astronomical data. Since 2001 I have been working at Veritas Technologies LLC. The focus of my work has been on improving performance and scalability of Enterprise-level large scale storage system. The system performance engineer projects cover a wide range from that of evaluating performance of proto-type code design to release performance and also across products competitive performance work. Apart from above I have long standing interest in machine learning, adaptive algorithms and time-series predictions used in real-time storage system applications.

Priya Munshi

Priya Sehgal

Senior Engineer, NetApp

Priya Sehgal is a Senior Engineer in the Advanced Technology Group, CTO office at NetApp. Priya has been at NetApp since July 2010. She is currently investigating the relevance of shared storage in distributed NoSQL databases. Her previous research includes the implications of non-volatile memory and Flash on file system design and operating systems, storage stack optimizations for energy-efficiency, and data management techniques to meet service level objectives. Prior to NetApp, Priya worked on various data management features in Proware Technology Corp. and CalSoft, Pune. She holds a Masters in Computer Science from Stony Brook University, New York (2010) and a B.E in Computer Engineering from Pune University (2003).  She has published 13 papers in international conferences, delivered technical talks at various events and has 3 issued patents. Priya is also a member of SNIA NVM TWG and external reviewer for ACM TOS, and GHCI.

Ramakrishna Vadla

Ramakrishna Vadla is from IBM, ISDL working as Advisory Software Engineer and Technical Lead for Storage Insights project from Software Defined Storage systems. He has completed M.Tech from IIIT Hyderabad and B.Tech from Osmania University, Hyderabad. He has 13+ years of experience in developing and designing large scale systems across different technologies such Storage systems, Cloud Storage and Middleware systems.

Sandeep Ramesh Patil

Sandeep Ramesh Patil works as a storage cloud architect with IBM labs and has over 17 years of extensive product architecture and design experience. Sandeep is an IBM STSM and IBM Master Inventor with over 150+ US patent filings in the field of storage cloud, security, filesystem, etc and is among the leading inventors in India in the mentioned field. Sandeep has authored numerous articles and paper publications in the field of computer science with subjects over security, storage clouds, etc and has presented in various international conferences across the world.

Sanjeev Kumar

Solution Architect, Tata Consultancy Services

Sanjeev Kumar is a Consultant with the Software Product Engineering (SPE) Services group within the HighTech business unit at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). With over 12 years of experience, he leads the solution development efforts for the unit across the areas of servers, storage, and peripheral devices. He has extensive experience in embedded system technologies such as firmware design, NAND flash-based devices development, and system on chip (SoC) implementation.  He has presented in SDC India twice for FY16 &17 on "Technology Advancement in SSD and related ecosystem changes" & “Consideration for adopting NVMeOF for Enterprise Storage”.

Sasikanth Eda

Software Engineer, IBM

Sasikanth Eda is a Master Inventor and Software Engineer with IBM Systems Lab. He works for IBM Spectrum Scale (formerly GPFS) – high performance clustered filesystem development team. In his current role, he is responsible for evaluating and enabling Spectrum Scale on Public and Private clouds.

Smita Raut

Senior Software Engineer, IBM

Smita has been working with IBM for the last seven years in storage area. She has been working on Network Attached Storage products on features related to disk and filesystem management, Active Cloud Engine (wan-caching across geos), Information Lifecycle Management and Object protocol support. Her current focus is on Object storage protocol and cloud enablement of a clustered filesystem on AWS and Azure.

Suman Debnath

Project Lead, Toshiba

Suman works for Toshiba with the NVMe over Fabric Engineering Group. 

He has more than 10 years of experience in Storage and System Performance Measurement wherein he had been working on Storage and Networking technologies. He is a frequent speaker at various national and international conferences, like GHCI, SNIA DSI, PyCon, etc. and loves to host tech talks on various areas, like Cloud Computing, Storage, FC Protocol, Virtualization, Docker, Python, etc.
He is an SME for SNIA and CompTIA, wherein he is responsible to design and develop the Storage+ certification questions. Few of his recent talks in the last year are:

Srinivasan Narayanamurthy

Technical Staff Member, NetApp

Srini works as a storage systems researcher with the Advanced Technology Group at NetApp. His areas of interest include security & privacy, applied cryptography, coding theory and distributed storage systems. He has over a decade worth of experience in the industry split between NetApp and RSA Security; after a Ph.D. in information security.

 

Udayan Singh

Chair, SNIA India, and Veritas Technologies

Before recently moving to Veritas, Udayan was Head of Software Product Engineering – Storage and Platform, Manageability, HiTech, TCS. He has 14+ years of experience in Solution Development, Product Development, Quality Assurance and Sustenance primarily in the Storage industry. Udayan focuses on new and latest trends that are impacting Storage, Platform & Manageability Software Product Companies, then conceptualizes and leads development of Innovative Solutions that provide value to Storage and Platform companies. His key areas of focus are Solid State Storage, Cloud Storage, Open Source Storage Technologies, Enterprise Software and Storage Integration. He has also led Cloud Data Management Interface Testing Solution in TCS.

Earlier he was leading the Innovation Management Group of the HiTech ISU, where he focused on developing and implementation of new levers on Innovation. Also, he has held technical lead roles with Customers in the Telecom domain and worked with leading Storage companies. 

Udayan has presented and published papers at the Storage Developer Conference / Storage Conferences and has filed multiple patents on various areas of Storage Technologies. He represents as regional affiliate of SNIA India at SNIA US Technical Council. He is also a member Computer Society of India.

Umasankar Mukkara

Co-Founder and COO, MayaData Inc

Uma Mukkara is a co-founder of MayaData, formerly known as CloudByte. During 2012-2013, as CTO of CloudByte Uma was instrumental in developing modular storage using containers for service providers using FreeBSD jails. Uma recently played a key part in defining storage architecture for cloud native stateful applications which eventually became the Container Attached Storage architecture. Uma has lead the architecture teams in the past for companies like Novell and CloudByte. He currently contributes to the development of OpenEBS in the areas of architecture, design and development of few control plane components.
