January 2020 Persistent Memory Summit Hackathon Registration

January 22, 2020 - Persistent Memory Summit Programming Tutorial & Hackathon
1:00 pm - 5:00 pm - Room TBD Hyatt Regency Santa Clara CA

Hosted by

Join SNIA Solid State Storage Initiative (SSSI) for an expanded Persistent Memory Programming Tutorial and Hackathon on the day before the Persistent Memory Summit. Designed as a workshop, the Hackathon program not only offers basic programming skill development for persistent memory through simple exercises, but also enables experienced programmers to access servers with persistent memory to develop and test code.

Register below to reserve your seat for the PM Programming Tutorial and Hackathon from 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm on Wednesday, January 22, 2020.  Registration is complimentary and you can get your badge on the Hyatt Regency Mezzanine level.

Starting at 1:00 pm, SNIA SSSI will provide a short tutorial on the software architecture model and programming options for persistent memory.  You can then start programming, with occasional breaks for short updates and time for Q&A.  Mentors will be available to answer questions and help with more complex issues that advanced programmers might encounter.  The server used for the tutorials has several examples that can be run from an Internet browser, and allow new programmers to modify code and see results.  The server itself provides individual containers for each user, which helps to isolate issues.  The environment itself makes for a good, self-paced study where new and experienced programmers alike can experiment.

Hackathon participants will need to bring a network accessible laptop installed with a SSH client of their choice. Access to remote virtual and physical systems and to the course materials (including source code) will be provided by SNIA.
