TLS Specification for Storage Systems Now an ISO Standard
The SNIA Transport Layer Security (TLS) specification for Storage System v2.2 has achieved a milestone by gaining accreditation from the International Organization for Standardization (ISO®), which has been published as ISO/IEC 20648:2024. The TLS specification specifies the requirements and guidance for use of the TLS protocol in conjunction with data storage technologies. The requirements are intended to facilitate secure interoperability of storage clients and servers as well as non-storage technologies that may have similar interoperability needs.

New for FY'25: SNIA Simplifies Membership Model
To better serve our Members, SNIA is simplifying our Membership model. For FY’25, we are removing the revenue specific requirements from the different membership tiers and migrating to a model based on participation and voting rights.
The new model eliminates fees to join Forums, Initiatives, and Technology Affiliates, opening up the opportunity for members to join any SNIA group to participate and develop content. Once your company is a SNIA member, join and participate in any group for no additional membership dues!
Highlights on the new membership structure are available here and details on the Membership Entitlements levels are outlined in this chart. SNIA Members and those interested in becoming a member can contact membership@snia.org with questions.
We are excited about this simplified membership model and its ability to open up participation access to any SNIA Group.

The key to optimal SAN performance is managing performance impacts due to congestion. The Fibre Channel industry introduced Fabric Notifications as a key resiliency mechanism for storage networks in 2021 to combat congestion, link integrity, and delivery errors. These functions have been implemented by the ecosystem and have enhanced the overall user experience when deploying Fibre Channel SANs. This webinar explores the evolution of Fabric Notifications and the available solutions of this exciting new technology.
