DNA Data Storage Alliance Releases Its First Specifications for Storage of Digital Data in DNA
|
|
The specifications define a recommended method for storing basic vendor and CODEC information within a DNA data archive. The CODEC provides the required conversion from digital information to DNA and DNA to digital information. The publication of the Alliance’s first specifications is an important step in the Alliance’s goal to set and publish specifications and standards that allow an interoperable DNA data storage ecosystem to grow. The Sector Zero and Sector One specifications are now publicly available, allowing companies working in the space to adopt and implement them.
