Alan Johnson

Alan Johnson holds the position of Director of Emerging Technologies for Super Micro Computer Inc. Prior to this he has held senior roles within other organizations including Eurologic Systems, Adaptec and LSI. He has been involved in data storage for the last 40 years and during this time has seen individual hard drive capacities grow from 5 MB to 18TB. More recently he has been navigating the many facets of Software Defined Storage responsible for developing optimized solutions and test plans.

Alan has been a long time contributor to the industry, being involved in many storage related forums such as the Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA) and the SCSI Trade Association (SCSITA). In the past he has served for a number of years as a board member within the Fibre Channel Industry Association (FCIA Europe). He holds BSc and MSc degrees from Dublin City University in Ireland.
