Johannes Loxen is an Open Source advocate since 1989, when the GPL was released. He is founder of SerNet in Germany, home of SAMBA+, still working as Head of OSPO in Germany. Since 2021 is CEO of SerNet, Inc. in San Francisco and brings Open Source storage, security and compliance solutions made in Germany to US public and industrial customers. In 2026 he helped founding Samba.Foundation, the new home of the international Samba.Team in Berlin, Europe.
