Dr. Song Fu is a Professor of Computer Science and Engineering with the University of North Texas. He is the Director of the NSF eCAT Center for Electric, Connected and Autonomous Technologies for Mobility, UNT Site, and the Director of the Applied AI and Data Science Institute (UNT AI Institute). He also directs the Vehicle and Edge Computing Lab (VEC). His research interest is primarily in vehicle computing, IoT-edge-cloud computing, parallel and distributed systems, including architecture, performance, dependability, and machine learning. His research has been supported in part by funding from the National Science Foundation, Department of Defense, Department of Energy, National Laboratories, Amazon, Cisco, Fujitsu, Google, Nvidia, PACCAR, Toyota, Xilinx, etc. Dr. Fu currently serves as the Associate Chair for Research. He has been a Faculty Leadership Fellow (2021-2022) and an Academic Affairs Fellow (2023-2024), both of which are leadership programs organized by the UNT Office of the Provost. He participated in the Computing Research Association (CRA) Leadership Academy in 2023. He is an ACM Distinguished Member.
