Vishal Jose Mannanal

Vishal Jose Mannanal is a Storage Technologist at Dropbox, where he focuses on large-scale HDD fleet engineering, drive qualification and reliability for exabyte-scale storage infrastructure. His work centers on high-density magnetic recording technologies such as SMR and HAMR, fleet-level telemetry analysis and hardware-aware system design to support durable, efficient capacity growth. Previously, Vishal held senior engineering roles at Microsoft and Microsemi, where he worked on storage systems, firmware and distributed infrastructure. He has more than two decades of experience across storage technologies, spanning device firmware, system architecture and hyperscale operations. He holds a Master’s degree in Computer Applications.
