Upgrade Testing To Add Functionality, Or Subprofiles, To An Existing Product Certification
Situations exist where a product may have added functionality, refelected in SNIA-CTP test subprofiles, since the base test and the vendor desires to have that functionality tested. Such update tests require the submittal of a new "SNIA-CTP Request For Conformance Testing" form and having the product tested with the previous, or initial, test criteria and the additional criteria.
This testing is an addition of capability to previous testing. All conditions of the initial test for the product must be identical with the exception that a new subprofile has been added.
This form is generally completed by a combination of your company's product marketing and engineering team.
Most cases will not require the completion of a new SNIA-CTP Application and Agreement. Please contact the SNIA-CTP Program Manager at mailto:snia-ctp-admin@snia.org , or (719) 884-8901 if you have any questions regarding this matter.

SNIA Web Site Product Posting After A Successful Test
The SNIA-CTP will add the products which passed the testing to their web site if so desired. The options to do so and the timing of such is outlined in the Request For Conformance Testing form.
Note that the manufacturer/vendor is responsible to notify the SNIA-CTP when to place product on the web site which were originally requested to have their posting delayed. This precaution is taken so that the SNIA-CTP does not announce a product before you do. |
