Abstract

A vendor-neutral environment can complicate the discussion of open standards given the pressure provided by de facto and vendor standards. Fortunately, the Open Source community provides a wealth of popular, vendor-neutral yet often vendor-adopted technologies that compliment the indispensable SNIA Dictionary. This talk is inspired by work on the SNIA Dictionary and aims to strengthen SNIA community discourse by providing a wealth of Open Source reference implementations for established and emerging technologies.
