Abstract
Hybrid devices form a bridge between cloud and on-prem infrastructure. In an AD based environment that is running a SAMBA based hybrid device, ID mapping
plays a critical role. Here is a proposed lightweight, scalable solution to map a cloud users ID to the on-prem appliance. SAMBA id-mapping features are leveraged to allocate the cloud UID, GID to on prem AD user, who is identified by Windows user and group SID. This scheme facilitates enforcing cloud based access restrictions to access local files.
