Abstract
This talk will assess the current state of multi-cloud storage systems in K8s era, how data is managed across multiple locations. A 2018 study revealed that 81 percent of enterprises respondent confirmed they had a multi-cloud strategy. Yet, with these multi-cloud strategies come from the fear of vendor lock-in: in July 2017, a different study found that vendor lock-in was a concern for 80% of enterprises.
We'll introduce Zenko project, a free open-source stack of microservices for efficient data management that leverages Kubernetes for seamless deployment and management. Developers of cloud-native applications interested in using S3 APIs while retaining control of their data in Azure, AWS or GCP will find useful information about the differences in various object-storage APIs and how Zenko leverages MongoDB to create a universal metadata search engine across multiple storage locations.
