Abstract
The world of IT is evolving rapidly, with extreme data growth, new workloads, shifts to cloud and hybrid computing models, increasing regulations and constant threats from ransomware and other malware. Data protection remains a critical piece of the IT landscape, but it must evolve as well in order to meet the demands of this changing world. This talk will describe the challenges presented by industry changes and how data protection must evolve to provide the data availability required in the new landscape. We’ll examine aspects such as the challenges of data protection in new scale-out workloads, the role of data protection in cloud computing, the emerging trend of embedding data protection in applications and storage, and how data protection must evolve to support regulations and provide recovery from ransomware attacks.
