Abstract
Gen-Z being as promising technology bringing new era of management anchors. Along with out-of-band management system it has very strong in-band management architecture.
In-band Management makes changes to a component’s control space using CTL-Read and CTL-Write packets or Control Read and Control Write packets launched into the switched fabric by a Gen-Z requestor.
Different manager such as primary manager, fabric manager, Composability manager, resource manager etc. Primary manager is in-band Gen-Z manager entity whose scope of control typically is restricted to those Gen-Z components that are part of the same physical assembly or a small set of assemblies in close physical proximity. Fabric manager will manage multiple enclosures.
Different directors and domains will play crucial role in Gen-Z management.
