Abstract:

Hybrid cloud environment provide benefits of both on premise and private/public clouds like better scalability, high security, improved resource utilization, reduction in expenditure on hardware and so on. Having data on premise will give better performance and throughput whereas storing data on cloud will reduce the maintenance and infrastructure costs. We can optimize the storage usage by storing the frequently accessed data on premise and cold data on cloud. But the movement of data between the clouds needs some major efforts. Applications need modifications to work in such environments as the interface to access the data from the cloud is different from the on premise storage. Attend this presentation to know how the data can be migrated from on premise to cloud independent of cloud vendor and operating system under constraints of particular policy while addressing its major use cases, cloud tiering, reclamation, mirroring, etc.
