Abstract
Persistent memory, including Intel’s 3D XPoint™ technology is coming, bringing terabytes of non-volatile media into the memory subsystem at sub-microsecond latencies. The possibilities for what this means to the industry are unimaginable…and exciting!
With such a revolutionary new paradigm, comes the great challenge of enabling its usage in the ecosystem. Therefore, Intel has developed a cross-platform open source software stack for configuring and managing Intel 3DXP DIMMs and utilizing the persistent memory capacity. This presentation will provide a high level overview of the software stack and what exactly it means to “manage” persistent memory, where the existing paradigms of memory and storage overlap.
