SNIA Storage Management (SM) is pleased to announce that Swordfish® v1.2.8 is now available as a SNIA Standard. The release is entering the ISO publication process, which will help to advance Swordfish technology adoption.

Swordfish provides a standardized approach to manage storage and servers in hyperscale and cloud infrastructure environments – leading to streamlined implementation, scalability and increased cost savings.

Swordfish extends the DMTF Redfish® specification – utilizing the same easy-to-use RESTful interface, along with JavaScript Object Notation (JSON) and Open Data Protocol (OData) – to seamlessly manage storage equipment and storage services in addition to servers.

Swordfish v1.2.8 includes expanded content for NVMe® device management to support joint work with the OpenFabrics Alliance and DMTF.

Key updates and features of Swordfish v1.2.8 include:

  • Enhancements to the NVMe-oF™ white paper.
  • Updates to NVMe functionality and mapping guide for namespace management
  • Advancements to filesystem use cases and mockups
  • Revisions to mapping and masking functionality
  • Expanded StoragePool Metrics, FileSystem Metrics, StorageService Metrics and Volume Metrics
