Abstract
SNIA has just created a DPU SIG (Special Interest Group) to accelerate awareness of storage centric DPU concepts and influence industry adoption plus implementation of technical specifications and programming models For DPUs. This mainstage talk at the 2023 SmartNICs Summit explains the growing importance of DPUs as they move beyond large public cloud providers into data center, edge, and telco. Dr. Joseph White also discusses SNIA’s perspective and role within the DPU ecosystem expanding on how we expect the various parallel industry DPU efforts to evolve.
