Dr. Vivek Raghavan is an out-of-the-box problem solver, serial entrepreneur and angel investor.

Vivek is the Chief Product Manager and Biometric Architect at the Unique Identification Authority of India. He has been responsible for the design, implementation and scale out of the technology platform for Aadhaar, the world’s largest identity program. He joined the Aadhaar project just when the first Aadhaar was issued, and was there when the billionth Aadhaar was generated.

He has also served as CTO for Team Indus, India's entry to the Google Lunar X-Prize, which aimed to land a spacecraft on the surface of the moon. Vivek spent 20 years in the field of Electronic Design Automation (EDA), successfully founding, running and selling two EDA startups and being responsible for the design and development of multiple market leading EDA products. He has held senior management positions at Magma Design Automation, Synopsys and Avant! Corporation. Vivek has an M.S. and Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and a B. Tech. from IIT Delhi. Vivek has an eclectic portfolio of angel investments, including Team Indus, Gear Design Automation, eZeTap, ZipDial, Healthify, and Vayavya Labs among others.

David Bachu

Associate Project Manager, Mindteck

David Jayanandam Bachu is an Associate Project Manager at Mindteck. During the 16 years of his professional career, he has spent more than two-thirds of his time in the storage industry. His work involves the development of firmware for SAS controllers, hardware diagnostic suites, and device drivers for network interface cards. David received his Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering and a Master’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering.

Girish Kumar BK

Atin Mukherjee

Atin has been working with Red Hat as an associate manager in storage engineering group. By title and responsibilities he takes care of people management role, but he still continues to contribute to Gluster in the technical areas. Dr. Dinkar Sitaram

Professor, PES University

Dr. Dinkar Sitaram is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science at PES University. He heads the Center for Cloud Computing and Big Data at PES University, and is driving research in these areas. He is also chairing the Cloud Computing Innovation Council of India working group that is working with TSDSI on developing cloud standards for India, He is the author of two books - a recent book on Cloud Computing, called “Moving to the Cloud – Developing Apps in the New World of Cloud Computing” published by American Elsevier in December 2011. His earlier book “Multimedia Servers” was published by Morgan Kaufman, San Francisco. He is the author of over 20 patents and 32 publications, and has over 3000 citations to his work.

Dr. Sitaram received his Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and his B.Tech from IIT Kharagpur. He joined as a Research Staff Member in IBM’s Research Division at the IBM T.J.Watson Research Center, NY. At IBM, Dr. Sitaram received an IBM Outstanding Innovation Award (an IBM Corporate Award) as well as IBM Research Division Award and several IBM Invention Achievement Awards for his patents and research, received outstanding paper awards at ACM Multimedia for his work. He also served on the editorial board of the Journal of High-Speed Networking. Subsequently, he returned to India as Director of the Technology Group at Novell Corp., Bangalore. The group developed many innovative products in addition to filing for many patents and standards proposals. Dr. Sitaram received Novell’s Employee of the Year award. Subsequently, Dr. Sitaram was CTO at Andiamo Systems India (a storage networking startup), responsible for architecture and technical direction of an advanced storage management solution. Andiamo Systems was acquired by Cisco Systems. Most recently, Dr. Sitaram was CTO at HP Systems Technology and Software Division, the product R&D organization of HP in India. He focused on driving cloud and storage technologies as part of the HP Storage Division. He also worked on file system strategies, and high reliability for the HP Unix server division. He was also responsible for Patents and University Relations at STSD.

Ketan Dinesh Mahajan

Ketan has been working in storage industry for more than 10 years. Currently he is working as Principal Software Engineer for Veritas Tech. LLC, Pune. He expertise spans across multiple areas like storage QoS, performance, backup, etc. He has worked on products like Atempo LiveBackup, Veritas Volume Manager, Veritas HyperScale, Veritas CloudPoint. He was recently instrumental in developing storage QoS solution for OpenStack and has filed 2 patents in that area.

Prof. K Gopinath

Prof. K. Gopinath graduated from IIT-Madras with a B.Tech. degree from University of Wisconsin, Madison with an MS in Computer Science. After working at Advanced Micro Devices as a Product Planning Engineer, he joined Stanford University for a Ph.D.(completed '88). After a brief stint as a PostDoc at Stanford and then at Sun Microsystems Labs, he joined IISc in 1990 where he is now a Professor.  His research interests are primarily in the computer systems area (Operating Systems, Storage Systems, Computer Systems, Security, Software Verification).

Michael Oros is Executive Director at Storage Networking Industry Association, where he oversees the group, industry collaboration and standards work of the organization. Michael brings 20 years of strategy, planning and development experience in IT services and high-tech industry to SNIA. Before joining the organization, Michael held roles at Intel including oversight of technology initiatives and collaboration on open standards, as well as the deployment of storage, backup, and disaster recovery services for the organization. After a Ph.D. in Astrophysics from the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR, Bombay), I was faculty at the National Center for Radio Astrophysics from 1995 to 2000. During this period I worked on real-time systems and digital signal processing of astronomical data. Since 2001 I have been working at Veritas Technologies LLC. The focus of my work has been on improving performance and scalability of Enterprise-level large scale storage system. The system performance engineer projects cover a wide range from that of evaluating performance of proto-type code design to release performance and also across products competitive performance work. Apart from above I have long standing interest in machine learning, adaptive algorithms and time-series predictions used in real-time storage system applications.

Udayan Singh

Before recently moving to Veritas, Udayan was Head of Software Product Engineering – Storage and Platform, Manageability, HiTech, TCS. He has 14+ years of experience in Solution Development, Product Development, Quality Assurance and Sustenance primarily in the Storage industry. Udayan focuses on new and latest trends that are impacting Storage, Platform & Manageability Software Product Companies, then conceptualizes and leads development of Innovative Solutions that provide value to Storage and Platform companies. His key areas of focus are Solid State Storage, Cloud Storage, Open Source Storage Technologies, Enterprise Software and Storage Integration. He has also led Cloud Data Management Interface Testing Solution in TCS.

Umasankar Mukkara

Co-Founder and COO, MayaData Inc

Uma Mukkara is a co-founder of MayaData, formerly known as CloudByte. During 2012-2013, as CTO of CloudByte Uma was instrumental in developing modular storage using containers for service providers using FreeBSD jails. Uma recently played a key part in defining storage architecture for cloud native stateful applications which eventually became the Container Attached Storage architecture. Uma has lead the architecture teams in the past for companies like Novell and CloudByte. He currently contributes to the development of OpenEBS in the areas of architecture, design and development of few control plane components.
