(April 12, 2010) - The Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA) announced today the first vendors passing the Conformance Testing Program (SNIA-CTP) provider suite for the Storage Management Initiative Specification (SMI-S) version 1.4. This version of the test suite introduces test results, reporting enhancements and expanded storage functionality tests.

Orlando, Fla. (Apr. 12, 2010) - The Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA) announced today at SNW Spring 2010, the formal approval of the Cloud Data Management Interface (CDMI) as a SNIA Architecture standard. This milestone marks the first industry-developed open standard for cloud computing and will allow for interoperable cloud storage implementations from cloud service providers and storage vendors.

(March 3, 2009) — The Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA) today announced its first XAM Coding Challenge, an event specifically designed for software programmers who are interested in creating innovative applications with the eXtensible Access Method (XAM) specification. The challenge will offer SNIA XAM tools and training to assist contestants with their content submissions. SNIA is partnering with TopCoder, the world’s largest competitive software development community, on the challenge.

(March 23, 2009) — Today the Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA) announced its new SNIA Qualified Storage Sales Professional (SQSSP) credential to validate storage sales and marketing professionals’ comprehension of storage technology, concepts, terminology and end user solution requirements. San Francisco, CA, (December 3, 2008) - The End User Council (EUC) of the Storage Networking Industry Association today announced the formation of the Storage Technology Online Community (StorTOC). Located at www.stortoc.org, StorTOC is the only online site both built and managed by end users as a solely end user collaborative community for networked storage.
