Saravanan Krishnan Director, Storage Platforms and Solutions Business, Asia Pacific, Hitachi Data Systems, and Chairman SNIA South Asia Saravanan currently leads the products and solutions team for Hitachi Data Systems’ Storage Platforms business in Asia Pacific. Prior to this position in HDS, Saravanan was with HP Software & Solutions, where he led the Information Management (IM) business across APJ. In an earlier role, Saravanan was with the HP APJ Consulting team where he took charge of driving the Information Lifecycle Management (ILM) and Storage services business. In both HP roles, Saravanan was instrumental in driving sales engagements through his regional team, exceed revenue and margin goals, introduce innovative service offerings, and uphold customer satisfaction. He was also accountable for developing strategic partnerships with key technology vendors to expand the services portfolio across the region. Prior to joining HP, Saravanan was with Sun Microsystems (through StorageTek acquisition) where he successfully led the Asia South storage solutions presales team. In his last role in StorageTek, Sara was in-charge of Business Development for emerging technologies. With more than 15 years of IT experience in companies including IBM and CSC, Saravanan has held diverse functional positions in delivery, consulting, sales and business development. Saravanan has a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from the National University of Singapore, and an Executive MBA Degree in Strategy and Innovation Management from Helsinki School of Economics. Saravanan also contributes actively through speaking engagements, online forums and industry publications. |

Karthik Ramarao Director of Strategy & Technology and CTO, APAC, NetApp Karthik Ramarao is the CTO for NetApp Asia Pacific and is also the Director of Strategy and Technology. In this role, he is responsible for evangelizing NetApp’s technology and advocating NetApp solutions to customers and partners. In addition, he leads a team that brings new solutions to market in the region while working closely with the global team to engage in business strategy and strategic planning for NetApp in Asia Pacific. Prior to joining Netapp, Karthik was the CTO for Dimension Data IDC and Cloud Services. There, with an objective to deliver exceptional commercial and business value to clients, led a team responsible for crafting and delivering cutting edge IT solutions which were hosted or provided from the cloud. Throughout his 25 years in IT Industry, Karthik has worked for Hewlett Packard and Sun Microsystems, holding various roles in research and development, product marketing, technology consultancy and presales in the server and storage across the Asia Pacific region. During this period, he has helped his clients consolidate, virtualize and optimise their datacentres. He has also conducted workshops to help his clients understand the paradigm effects of green computing and how they can adopt measures to transform their datacentres to power and energy efficient datacentres while preserving their business fundamentals and growth needs. Karthik is based in Singapore and holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electronics and Communications. |
