SC25 (Supercomputing Conference 2025) in St. Louis, MO in November is in the books, and SNIA once again showcased the Open Standards Pavilion in booth #211. It was a busy and successful week overall for SNIA Storage Management and Swordfish®, with hundreds of people stopping by the pavilion to discuss Swordfish technology and view the Swordfish Scalable Storage Management demonstration.
The week of SC25 was a great opportunity for standards groups to exhibit their work to the global supercomputing community. The conference was attended by over 16,500 people, including engineers, scientists, industry professionals, academics, students and more. Aside from the bustling exhibit hall with 559 exhibitors, the conference offered learning opportunities in all facets of AI and HPC, from Birds-of-a-Feather talks (BOFs) and panels to workshops and research papers.

A Strong Technology Ecosystem
SNIA was joined by leading standards organizations in the Open Standards Pavilion, including DMTF, OpenFabrics Alliance (OFA), Universal Chiplet Interconnect Express™ (UCIe), Ultra Accelerator Link (UALink™), NVM Express®, and the Ultra Ethernet Consortium (UEC). Participation from these groups helped to illustrate the strength of the technology ecosystem and open standards.

Educational Focus: Student Scavenger Hunt, Presentations and More
SNIA Storage Management participated in the Intel Innovation Pass activity, generating additional booth traffic. The Student Scavenger Hunt event also brought young minds eager to learn more about the value of open standards. SNIA donated two 32” monitors as scavenger hunt prizes.
On Thursday, representatives from CXL, DMTF, NVM Express, PCI-SIG®, SNIA, UALink, UCIe, UEC and other groups participated in a panel discussion – “Intel’s Standards-Led Strategy: Working Together with Industry to Accelerate Innovation in AI and HPC” – in the Intel Theater with good turnout.
OFA representatives also participated in a BOF on Wednesday that discussed using Sunfish to apply AI-driven scheduling to improve efficiency and flexibility in HPC environments.
