Colorado Springs, CO – August 3, 2017 – The Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA), its technical workgroups, and its marketing Initiatives are key contributors to an ecosystem driving system memory and storage into a single, unified “persistent memory” entity.
SNIA is driving technical work, including the SNIA NVM Programming Model, to define how the industry may use new persistent memory solutions coming to market. Persistent memory is now being implemented by NVDIMMs (non-volatile dual in-line memory modules) and brings storage to memory slots, accelerating system performance for real-time data capture, analysis, and intelligent response.
SNIA will host a variety of persistent memory-related activities at Flash Memory Summit, including a mainstage talk, two Forums, and demonstrations. Be sure to visit SNIA in booth #820 and in the Persistent Memory Demonstration area in the Technology Pavilion.
SNIA will demonstrate the industry’s first multi-vendor JEDEC-compliant NVDIMM-N system running Windows 2016 on the Intel Skylake platform introduced July 2017 with JEDEC DIMMs from SNIA NVDIMM Special Interest Group (SIG) members AgigA Tech, Micron, Netlist, SMART Modular, and Viking Technology.
Demonstrations by SNIA NVDIMM SIG members AgigA Tech, SMART Modular, and Viking Technology, as well as an overview of persistent memory over fabrics by the Open Fabrics Alliance, will be featured in the Persistent Memory area in the FMS Technology Pavilion.
