SNIA Launches New Credential Program at Storage Networking World Spring 2009

San Francisco, Calif. (March 23, 2009) — Today the Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA) announced its new SNIA Qualified Storage Sales Professional (SQSSP) credential to validate storage sales and marketing professionals’ comprehension of storage technology, concepts, terminology and end user solution requirements. Training and testing for the credential will take place at Storage Networking World Spring 2009, April 6–9, in Orlando, Fla.

SNIA Green Storage Initiative Unveils SNIA Emerald Website

STORAGE NETWORKING WORLD, Dallas, Texas (October 11, 2010) - The Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA) Green Storage Initiative (GSI) today announced the availability of a new website to support the GSI's SNIA Emerald program. Storage Technology Online Community (StorTOC) Launches

The SNIA Announces its 2009 Board of Directors

Dallas (October 13, 2008) - The Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA) is pleased to announce its 2009 Board of Directors responsible for the SNIA worldwide. The SNIA's membership elected the Board of Directors, and the Board elected their Executive Committee officers at the Storage Networking World Fall 2008 conference being held in Dallas, Texas.

SNIA Announces SMI-S Version 1.3

Dallas (October 13, 2008) The Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA) announced today the availability of the Storage Management Initiative Specification (SMI-S) version 1.3. SMI-S version 1.3 provides new support for storage virtualization, adding support for virtual tape libraries and NAS file servers, management of Storage Area Network (SAN) security and support for Redundant Array of Independent Disk (RAID) controller cards.

The SNIA Announces its 2009 Technical Council

Dallas (October 13, 2008) - The Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA) is pleased to announce its 2009 Technical Council responsible for providing guidance and direction on the numerous technical activities of the SNIA. The SNIA's membership elects seven Technical Council members and the SNIA Board of Directors appoints up to two additional members. The Technical Council leaders are the Chairman and Vice-Chairman. SNIA Releases its First Software with XAM Software Development Kit

SAN JOSE, Calif. (July 22, 2008) – The Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA) announced today at the SNIA 2008 Summer Symposium that it has approved the eXtensible Access Method (XAM) version 1.0 specification and released a working draft of the associated XAM Software Development Kit (SDK). The XAM specification is now being prepared for ANSI and ISO accreditation and is expected to be integrated into storage products by Fall 2008 and into applications by early 2009.
