Anupam Bhide - Calsoft

MEMBER

Dr. Anupam Bhide is the founder and C.E.O of Calsoft Inc. With more than 22 years of experience in the technology industry, he is widely respected for his integrity, innovative mindset, and dynamism. His visionary leadership combined with deep industry and technology expertise have played a key role in establishing Calsoft Inc. as a leading provider of software product engineering services. Prior to incorporating Calsoft Inc., Anupam led elite development teams at HP, IBM, and Oracle. Under his direction, the teams at Oracle designed key features for Oracle 8 and improved the scalability of Oracle 7. Before joining Oracle, he served as a Research Scientist at the IBM T. J. Watson Research Center, New York where he was a founding member of the DB2/6000 Parallel Edition team. At IBM, he also conceived and built one of the first high availability products in the open systems market - the Highly Available NFS File Server. Anupam holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of California-Berkeley. He also has a master’s degree in computer science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a bachelor’s degree in computer science from IIT-Mumbai.

Anil Kumar Boggarapu - Nutanix

I Anil Kumar Boggarapu bring over 26 years of experience in engineering leadership, product development, and architecture across some of the industry’s most respected technology companies, including Hewlett Packard, Brocade, NetApp, Cohesity, and Nutanix. Over the course of my career, I have had the privilege of leading large, distributed engineering teams, driving R&D strategy, engineering process defining/driving and delivering enterprise-class products that spans I/O Subsystem, Kernel, Storage, Storage networking, cloud Infrastructure, hyper-converged infrastructure, and hyperscale platforms. Also involved in GTM strategies for products. As a technologist have multiple patents granted.

Currently at Nutanix, I lead engineering teams developing platform & infrastructure solutions. My work has consistently centred on building high-performance, scalable, and resilient architectures that drive customer adoption and enable enterprise transformation.

As I step into representing Nutanix at SNIA, I see this as an opportunity to contribute my cross-domain expertise and leadership to the broader storage and infrastructure community.

Throughout my career, I have thrived at the intersection of technology strategy, innovation, and execution. I look forward to bringing this perspective to SNIA, strengthening Nutanix’s voice in the industry, and contributing to the long-term success of the storage and cloud ecosystem.

Piyush Gupta - IBM

CHAIR

Piyush Gupta is a seasoned engineering leader in the Storage Systems & Software
Development group at the IBM Systems Development Lab (ISDL). With over two
decades of experience in the storage and virtualization industry, he has
spearheaded development efforts for several flagship IBM Storage products,
including IBM Storage Insights and IBM FlashSystem, serving as both Development
Leader and Global Product Owner.
Piyush has played a pivotal role in building and leading high-performing, innovation-
driven teams that have significantly advanced the storage landscape. His leadership
has been central to driving breakthroughs across key domains such as Hybrid Cloud,
Automation, Resiliency, Security, Networking, AIOps, and more.
A recognized technology evangelist, Piyush actively represents IBM Storage at
major global forums, including developer conferences, customer summits, and
product launch events. He is also deeply committed to giving back to the community,
regularly engaging as a guest speaker at leading technical and management
institutions.
Piyush holds an engineering degree and is management-certified by the Indian
Institute of Management (IIM).

Pushpendra Kumar Gupta (PK) - Advisor - Dell Technologies

ADVISOR

PK Gupta leverages 40 years of IT management experience (28 years in Dell) to drive global data storage and solution architecture. As APJ Presales Lead and Global CTO for Global Alliances Presales, PK cultivates relationships with business executives across the world to deliver exceptional technical support according to business needs.

A globally recognized technology leader, PK has served on international advisory boards in India, Singapore, and Malaysia. Dedicated to global technology advancement, PK founded Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA) chapters in India and South Asia. Represented Dell Technologies on the Global Board of Directors and Data Protection & Privacy Committee for the SNIA International.  He is co-chair for recently formed Digital Twin Consortium Regional Branch Office (DTC RBO) for South Asia and India as well.  He has also been invited by universities and industry organizations to present on technology trends in various industries for data decade, data protection & privacy regulations, cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence (AI), storage management and disaster recovery. In recognition of his contributions to company success, PK was inducted into the Dell Technologies Data Protection Solutions Hall of Fame, awarded the Global Elite Leadership Golden Jacket, APJ President Leadership award, 2012 SNIA Industry Impact Award and recently given 2024 SNIA Lifetime Achievement Award.  He also achieved President Club 10 times in last 16 years.

Managing teams of up to 550 employees, PK strives to foster collaborative work cultures focused on attaining overall business objectives while remaining adaptable to rapidly changing market demands. Throughout his tenure with Dell EMC, he has traveled to 62 countries and held various leadership roles, including Global Pre-sales Lead for Data Protection Solutions, Director of Engineering, Sr. Director of Specialty Pre-sales, and Director of Product Marketing.

PK holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science from the Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology and PGDM from AIMA. He attributes his passion for computer science to watching the classic series, Star Trek, from which he was inspired to reach new heights and do the unthinkable. An avid reader, he is dedicated to learning and sharing knowledge with others. Whether traveling across the world for work or leisure, PK enjoys collecting coins and currency from each country he visits. 

Rahul Gupta - Smile Security & Surveillance

Rahul Gupta (Managing Director), a 1975 Mechanical Engineering Graduate is a veteran in the Security and IT Industry with over 40 years of industry experience. He started his IT career with DCM Data Products in the year 1981. He relocated to the Middle East in 1990 and worked for Acer Middle East (A subsidiary of Acer Taiwan) as General Manager before he relocated to India in 2002 to set up a company for Acer group in India.

In the 2006 he established his own company, M/s. Smile Security and Surveillance Pvt. Ltd. (SSSPL) and conceived the brands AnexGATE, AnexVM and AnexSECURE and promotes them to industry verticals ranging from financial, retail, education, government, logistics, hospitality, manufacturing, real estate and healthcare.

He has been associated with storage industry for long years.  He was heading the largest hard disk and data backup devices distributor in the middle east and started manufacturing storage products like NAS, SAN and SANAS etc in India under his own brand AnexSTOR.

Karnendu Pattanaik - Mindteck

Karnendu brings over 23 years of experience in data storage, cloud infrastructure, and
platform engineering, with a growing focus on the intersection of storage and AI-driven
automation. As a long-standing Advisor to SNIA India, he has actively contributed to
community-driven initiatives, fostering collaboration across emerging tech areas such as
object storage, NVMe, cloud-native architectures, and intelligent data protection.
In his current role as Practice Head – Storage at Mindteck, Karnendu is driving innovation at
the convergence of storage technologies and applied AI — leading solution accelerators
around AI-based anomaly detection, intelligent data tiering, and DevOps automation. Prior
to this, he served as Senior Engineering Manager at Dell EMC, where he led globally
distributed engineering teams focused on reliability and lifecycle management.
Karnendu has also collaborated with industry leaders such as HP (US), Brocade (US), and
PMC Sierra through services engagements—contributing to critical domains like firmware,
validation, and RAID systems.
A passionate evangelist for AI-augmented infrastructure, Karnendu continues to support
SNIA India’s mission of advancing innovation through standardization, education, and
thought leadership in the evolving world of data.

Shiva Perabathini - NetApp

SECRETARY

Shiva Perabathini is a seasoned technology leader with over two decades of experience
in enterprise storage systems and cloud infrastructure. At NetApp, he leads global
engineering teams focused on delivering high-performance SAN and block storage
solutions across on-premises and cloud platforms. Shiva has been instrumental in
driving innovation across storage architectures, data availability, and performance
optimization. His leadership has contributed to the successful launch of several strategic
products and solutions. He actively engages with customers, partners, and industry
forums to shape the future of intelligent data infrastructure.
Shiva holds dual master’s degrees in software systems and Nuclear Physics and is
passionate about mentoring and building high-performing, collaborative engineering
cultures.

Aditya Sharma - HPE

Aditya Sharma is an experienced storage development leader with over 24 years of experience,
currently serving as Senior Manager – Storage Division at Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE),
driving development of Alletra MP storage systems and managing development teams for

Primera and Nimble storage arrays. Aditya’s primary focus is on driving innovation in high-
performance NVMe, NVMe/FC and SPDK-based storage architectures, NVMe target/initiator

driver design, Fibre Channel protocol optimization, next-generation I/O frameworks for
enterprise storage arrays and data center environments. Aditya had also worked on
development of multiple areas of real time operating systems, embedded systems and storage
drivers. Aditya did his master’s in electrical engineering from the Indian Institute of Science,
Bangalore in year 2000.

Sharad Srivastava has many years of tech-industry experience in Data Storage related fields. Sharad, currently focuses on the Data Privacy protection segment. Data Sanitization / destruction through its company "Certus Software". and data protection software implementation and consulting through "Trust Privacy" Solutions.

In past, through "Restor" Services focused on repair and refurbishment of data storage devices (HDD & SSD), data recovery and data erasure. In 2013, Sharad setup India's first ISO certified HDD repair and refurbishment factory - ReStor. Over the years, ReStor has processed more than 1 million HDD units and serviced out-of-warranty drives for many MNC and India computer OEMs, SI and large volume sellers’ customers.

In its previous assignments, Sharad had led country business for global data storage companies (Seagate & Western Digital), building the brand, creating channel and support structure at grassroots level. In the course of his highly successful career as a professional manager, he has overseen various functions like R&D, product development, sales, marketing, customer support and technical support.
